Welcome!
A word "from the podium"
January 2024
The world is facing tremendous pressures (wars, economic inequity, political divide, social injustice). The problems are so overwhelming that it is easy to embrace a posture of “there is nothing I can do.”
It would take the wisdom of Solomon to know how to solve the world’s problems. I believe that the best way to start is education — an education infused with arts education. The students who sing with the Men’s Glee Club represent nearly every college on the Ohio State campus. They have different academic interests and varying professional goals. But for all the diversity the MGC singers represent, they share the common bond of their love of music — especially choral music. If they have not yet found the words to express their interest, they know at some level that participation in the historic Men’s Glee Club is something that is good for them. Yes to the music; yes to the artistic challenge; yes to the concerts; and YES to the brotherhood and friendships that may well last their lifetime.
In June 2024 the MGC will launch its sesquicentennial celebration. An academic year of reunion concerts, travel, and a financial campaign.
MGC’s 150th: HONORING THE PAST, BUILDING THE FUTURE.
We look forward to sharing our celebration year with you.
Respectfully,
Robert J. Ward
